How to order a mocktail at a bar
Ask for a flavor shape, texture, and level of sweetness so the zero-proof choice is specific and welcome.

A useful request names the shape of the drink rather than treating alcohol-free as a category of its own: “something tall, tart, and not too sweet,” or “a dry, bitter, sparkling option.” Ask what the bar can make with citrus, tea, herbs, carbonation, or a non-alcoholic bitter component.
Labels and ingredients vary, so this guide does not make product-wide legal claims. The Drink Card Index includes alcohol-free templates such as Bitter Citrus Fizz and Tea & Tonic. For a group setting, bar etiquette makes space for a clear request without drawing attention to it.
